Daily Blog: Baking Cookies, Winter Run, & Job Promotion!

Friday 3 June 2016

Happy Friday!

Porridge with banana, blueberries, and an energy seed mix to start my day. And coffee, of course. I got this mug from Anthropologie and it's one of my favorites.

I really wanted to get some baking done this morning, it's what I usually do on a Friday. I found this easy 4 ingredient gingernut cookie recipe that I wanted to try. I'm always looking for new healthy treats to indulge in!

Always choose your peanut butter wisely! This one had a great health-star rating.

Just mix coconut sugar and the ginger. Add the egg and mix again.

Then add the peanut butter and blend until it comes together in one big ball.

Roll into ping ping ball size and flatten down. Bake at 200*C or 392*F for 12-14 minutes.

These make my kitchen smell amazing, and I've had a cheeky bite of one and they are so good! It may be my new favorite treat. Thank goodness they are only small servings too!

I also made my Mum's favorite lemon protein balls with a recipe from Lola Berry's cookbook, which is one of my all-time favorites! She has so many amazing recipes to try. All nutritious and good for you!

Does anyone else battle with their jar of coconut oil? This always happens when it's half full. I love you coconut oil, but you can be a pain sometimes.

Time to rush to the gym! I'm a little bit behind today, so I'm having to run out of the house in a hurry.

Thankfully, it's another quiet morning here. It's my second day of arms this week, so I'm just doing the same routine I did the other day with a mix of rope work and weight training. The Batman tape was definitely my trainer! Only he would have that tape lol that's why he's the best.

On Wednesday's and Friday's I do an hour at the gym, then meet my Mum at our local park to go for a run. It's been a bit muddy this week because of some rain we had, but the trees still look beautiful from Autumn. I thought I would show you guys why I love this route so much!

The route we do is about 8km long, so it keeps up our training well. I actually had to sprint to catch up to Mum because I was too busy taking photos, and these new Reebok shoes are amazing! I felt like the Flash! It was so much fun.

Cheeky teaspoon of peanut butter in the car to get some protein to my muscles!

Home again for a protein smoothie, quick shower, and some lunch. To make it extra filling today, I added poached eggs and it was so delicious! Also gotta catch up on the latest Ben Brown vlog to keep me inspired.

So much work to do! Coffee, let's do this.

It's my job to cook the tuna steaks for dinner tonight, so I just coated them in ground tumeric, cajan seasoning, poppy seeds, salt & pepper, and some chili flakes. It packs a major flavor punch! Probably went too heavy on the chili! They're quite thin fillets, so I only fried them on each side for about a minute.

Having a very quick snack of hummus on toast and some carrot sticks while I get some blog photos done. Friday's are always such a rush, but I've still been productive.

Finally home for dinner after a bit of a stressful night at work! But in good news, I might be made into a supervisor! It's kind of scary, but I've been at my workplace for so long that I'm confident that I can deal with whatever gets thrown at me. Yay for a pay rise too : )

I'm watching Godzilla while I edit some posts. I know this movie didn't do so well, but I actually love it! I watched it about 5 times on our flight to Hawaii. They made Godzilla the awesome good guy. And Aaron Taylor Johnson is a bit of a hottie, so there's that too.

Just a very chilled Friday night for me. The weekend is going to be quite busy with the half-marathon on Sunday, so there's that to look forward to!

What's your favorite movie to watch on a Friday?
