I was at my favorite cafe the other day when I saw that they had brought out a new range of smoothies on their menu. They specialize in clean eating, so I was pretty excited about it. The one I wanted to try most was their Almond Gingerbread Shake, and it was just as good as I thought! It inspired me to try and make my own version of it at home (I changed a few ingredients to suit me better), and if I do say so myself, I'm pretty happy with the results.
I make a protein smoothie for myself almost everyday and I can't tell you how much I look forward to it. Protein smoothies are my absolute favorite way of rewarding myself after a hard workout or a long run. The thought of food at the end always keeps me going! It's nice to change things up a bit and keep my routine interesting too. Plus, spices are so good for getting your metabolism running and this recipe packs a really great flavor punch!
Ingredients:
250mls Almond Milk (I sometimes use calcium-enriched milk too)
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1 date
1/4 frozen banana, or ice to make it cold
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
This sounds absolutely delicious, I love gingerbread so much! I haven't had a smoothie in a while though but now I'm really keen! :) I love mango smoothies too just because of how thick they make it!
