My Favorite Music of 2015

Friday, 11 December 2015

Hello Everyone!
I couldn't not talk about my favorite music from this year, especially since I feel like I've found so many great songs. My music taste has changed a bit this year too, or at least I prefer different genres depending on what I'm doing. For example, I love pop songs in the car, but my gym playlist has a lot of hip-hop and electronic on it. Anyone else do that? I do go quite mainstream with my music, but hey I like what I like!

My Jam: Hailee Steinfeld - Love Myself
"Gonna love myself, no I don't need anyone else"
I have probably listened to this song everyday since I discovered it. It's just so fun and uplifting! Every time I need to cheer myself up I just turn this up loud and I feel so much better. Definitely my favorite song this year.

Blown away by: One Direction - Made in The A.M
Bet you already knew I was going to talk about this one, right? These boys seriously stepped up their game with this album and I absolutely love the direction they're taking with it (see what I did there). There's a really cool retro vibe with the songs and there are a few that remind me a lot of the Beatles. And I don't say that lightly, because I love the Beatles.
Favorite Tracks: A.M, What a Feeling, I Want To Write You A Song, Hey Angel, Drag Me Down.

Anthem Artists: Little Mix
I definitely gained a new appreciation for girl bands this year. These four girls are all incredibly talented and their music style is quite empowering for other girls. I've actually been listening to them a lot at the gym and when I'm working out and it's great for motivation.
Favorite Tracks: Salute, Love Me Like You, Black Magic, Lightning.

Feelin' like a teen again: 5 Seconds of Summer
I'm always cautious of getting into new boy-band music, just because it usually spirals out of control (I'm looking at you 1D!). But their music is a lot of fun, especially since it has a punk-rock feel to it which brings me back to my high-school days.
Favorite Tracks: End Up Here, She's Kinda Hot, Hey Everybody, Permanent Vacation.

Girlcrush: Demi Lovato
Anyone else incredible happy that Demi is back? And with a completely new direction of music too! As soon as I heard Cool for the Summer for the first time I was hooked again. Not to mention she looks incredible!
Favorite Tracks: Cool for the Summer, Kingdom Come, Old Ways, Confident.

Track Favorites:
My House - Flo Rida
Hell No's and Headphones - Hailee Steinfeld
Wake Up- The Vamps
Never Forget You - Zara Larsson & MNEK
Lean On (feat. MØ & DJ Snake) - Major Lazer
Don't Worry (feat. Ray Dalton) - Madcon
Levels - Nick Jonas
Get Stupid - Aston Merrygold
Bad Girls - MKTO
Down South (feat. Motheo Moleko) - Jeremy Loops
BO$$ - Fifth Harmony

Do you have a favorite song from this year?

October Music Playlist

Friday, 30 October 2015

Hello Everyone!
I feel like October was a pretty great month for music. I was definitely finding lots of new songs to listen to. Demi Lovato and 5 Seconds of Summer both released their new albums, Little Mix dropped some new songs from their upcoming album, and even Ginny Blackmore came out with a new song. I can't wait for One Direction to finally bring out Made In The A.M, mainly so I don't have a heart attack every time I go on twitter and see a new song is out! A little warning is all I ask boys.
I also found some new tunes for the gym, which is always a bonus. I'm starting to like hip hop to work out to, which is strange for me.
What can I say, I like what I like!

My love of Pop music continues...

Perfect - One Direction

Old Ways - Demi Lovato

Under My Feet - Ginny Blackmore

Love Me Like You - Little Mix

Lean On - Major Lazer feat. MO & DJ Snake

Hey Everybody! - 5 Seconds of Summer

Kingdom Come - Demi Lovato

Leader - Raphael Lake, Aaron Levy & Dumi Maraire

Permanent Vacation - 5 Seconds of Summer

Black Magic - Little Mix

Confident - Demi Lovato

Don't Worry - Madon feat. Ray Dalton, Johnny Powers Severin, Teddy Sky, Tshawe Baqwa & Yosef Wolde-Mariam

Drag Me Down (Big Payno x AFTERHRS Remix) - One Direction feat. LunchMoney Lewis

What's your favorite song at the moment?
'Till next time.

July Playlist

Wednesday, 5 August 2015

Hey guys! I'm back with another playlist. I struggled slightly with finding new music this month, thankfully some of my favorite artists came through with new singles. I rediscovered so old favorites too. Don't forget to let me know what's been on your music playlist through July, I would love some recommendations!

For being proud of who you are, and having a bit of fun dancing at the same time

This is such a fun song, makes me feel a bit like a teenager again (in a good way!)

These boys. A seriously well-thought out song, best surprise ever. New album soon please!

If you loved Uptown Funk, you will adore this! A ridiculously fun song that will make you love Jazz music all over again.

This one has been on repeat since it came out this month. I absolutely love the direction Demi is going with her music.
Selena Gomez and the Scene - Naturally
Revisiting an old favorite. This song played at the gym one day and I couldn't resist going home and listening to it again.
Taylor Swift - Welcome to New York
I've spent many a day dreaming of what things could be like if I just work hard. This song is great motivation, let me tell you!

What have you guys been listening to lately?

June 2015 Playlist

Sunday, 28 June 2015

I'm one of these people who has to change up their music quite often, which means I also go back to songs I was listening to 6 months ago and start loving them again. As a disclaimer, I have a shameless of pop music, no matter how mainstream. It puts me in the best mood!

Thanks to Mr Ben Brown for this one, gets me pumped in the car on my way to work

MKTO - Bad Girls
Probably my current favorite song, also probably the one I sing the loudest to in the car

One Direction - No Control
Gotta have a it of rock and roll in my day

Imagine Dragons - I'm So Sorry
For when I needed to feel like more of a bad-ass, especially at the gym

Little Mix - Little Me
For those self-doubt moments

I have to listen to this kind of techno when I need to be productive. Love it!

5 Seconds of Summer - End up Here
Reminds me of some of the punk stuff I used to listen to as a teenager; still just as awesome

The Cab - Stand Up
Another gym song; been playing this for over a year and I still love it

One Direction - Clouds
My current favorite song off their latest album

One of those rediscovery songs, now that the radio isn't playing it ten times a day

Taylor Swift feat. Kendrick Lamar - Bad Blood
I prefer this to the original version; also for feeling like a bad-ass

Little Mix - See Me Now
For a confidence boost in pursuing the big stuff

What songs have you been listening to this month? x.
