Snickerdoodle Mug Cake With Chocolate Chips

Monday, 7 December 2015

Hello Everyone!
Who doesn't love dessert in mug! And we all want a treat without having to spend two hours making it, right? I've got you covered today with my absolute favorite mug-cake recipe.

I originally found this recipe on the fivehearthome blog, and made a few changes over the course of making it (a little less sugar and more chocolate!) She has some amazing recipes, so don't forget to check it out!
The method of this is super easy and you could definitely whip this up in about ten minutes. Make sure you use a straight-angled mug so that the mixture cooks evenly. Feel free to add any of your favorite extras to make this even more delicious!

Ingredients:
  • 1/4 cup milk, at room temperature
  • 2 Tbsp butter, melted and cooled
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla essence
  • 1/4 cup + 2 Tbsp all purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 Tbsp chopped chocolate (or chocolate chips)
 (for layering)
  • 1 Tbsp sugar
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
Optional: Add a spoonful of Nutella in the middle or add white chocolate instead of dark.

Method:
  • Measure the milk and leave it to reach room temperature
  • In a small bowl, melt the butter (30 sec at a time in the microwave) and leave to cool
  • In a another bowl, mix all of the dry ingredients together (including the chocolate)
  • Add the milk and butter to the dry ingredients and mix until smooth
  • Mix the sugar and cinnamon in small bowl
  • Using a dessert spoon, layer one spoonful of the batter into your mug then sprinkle a little of the sugar/cinnamon mix on top. Repeat until you finish the mix and the sugar is on top
  • Microwave for 1-1 & 1/2 minutes.
  • Cool and enjoy!

I hope you like it as much as I do!
